I loved the Owl John album, other than maybe three songs.

Holy shit, I think loved is an understatement. last.fm is telling me I’ve listened the songs 1350 times in total: http://www.last.fm/user/tallsaint/library/music/Owl+John/Owl+John

Honestly, that fucking album is glorious. The sound of it fits somewhere between Midnight Organ and the sparseness of Winter.

The end of Red Hand, when the guitars pull away and you’re left with Scott singing, “Maybe it’s nothing, maybe it’s nothing”…

    Truly beautiful.

April 8th! Not too far away. I think I’m going to stave off listening to any singles beforehand for this one.

First single is now available and there are certainly hints of Dessner in it 🙂

Frightened Rabbit released another song from the album. Track # 2 “Get Out”….The video & song is absolutely epic. Maybe my favorite FR song of all time…..The first “Get out of my heart” is just so powerful & emotional…As a guy who is going through a bad breakup, this album couldn’t come at a better time as it seems to be dealing with love issues

That video stings a bit. Took a couple watches to catch on that they filmed in Kyiv. I really appreciated that the director found a way to invoke a sense of a threat of violence against the two leads without showing actual violence against them (or worse, turning it into yet another Bury Your Gays trope).

Just really well crafted. Emotionally powerful, while avoiding all the easy targets and typical pitfalls this sort of angst-riddled young love story tends to fall into, and crafts a story with conflict and tension without vilifying one of the two girls or creating an imbalanced power dynamic between them.

This video made me really happy, is my point. The song’s stuck in my head now, too, which makes me want to keep watching the video.

LOVING the new Frightened Rabbit. Got the Eric Bachmann but haven’t been able to stop playing FR long enough to hear it.
Also got the new Underworld. LNZNDRF on hold but not bought yet.
And I did get Owl John, and had a similar response to most here.
