We all have our widely documented favorite songs, but what are the bands most unrated songs? There are of course gems of acquired taste – Little Faith and the like – but what songs simply don’t get the credit they perhaps deserve?

Ohh, yes.  Put me down for some Fashion Coat as well.  And Patterns of Fairytales.

Fashion Coat and Patterns of Fairytales are good ones.

Also, Gospel (a lot of people on this board seem to dislike this song) and the thrilling of claire. And Lemonworld perhaps, though that one seems to be more polarizing than universally disliked.

And I Need my Girl. 😉

Underrated by fans or by the band? I guess you thought about general public?

I’m not sure what song it is for me, but it’s probably off SSFDL.

Reasonable Man. Just kidding of course.

I add to the list Friend of Mine and You Were a Kidness (The instrumental part after the chorus that begins at 2:00 and how it bursts when the second verse kicks in it’s just one of the greatest National moments).

I have to say I have a soft spot for “Bitters and Absolut” off the self-titled album.  “I do you better than you do, I do you better than you ever will…”  It gives me this great image of this guy who does a perfect impression of his girlfriend when he’s had a few drinks…
