watched 7 psychopaths. Yes, the screenplay is original, yes, actors are great, but that’s all. Maybe I expected something more because of “In Bruges”.

ASMS_17, thanx a lot for link, it is very interesting) I realy  love this movie.

…I presume there is a good indie soundtrack too so basically the film was focus grouped for me.

Yes, I was plesently surprised and somewhat shocked when I heard the voice of Joe Newman from Alt-J.

for anyone thinking about watching the “alex cross” movie – my advice is don’t………. save yourself two hours of your life that you will never get back…… wooden actors and a  ridiculous plot  that shames it’s predecessors…..just dig out either “along came a spider” or “kiss the girls” instead……

Agreed, good actors and several songs by the Walkmen were high points, but the story felt very incoherent.  It seemed like a combination of Pulp Fiction and Adaptation, but nowhere near as good as either of those.

Well Jimbo there is only ever going to be one Pulp Fiction – Tarantino has not even been close to replicating the brilliance of that movie.

However, I still feel that 7 psycho’s has a lot going for it and is full of smart dialogue.

But different strokes for different folks.

You see I think Nicolas Cage is the biggest “ham actor” out there and have only been able to sit through just one of his movies (Bad Lieutenant), the others have me running for cover screaming.

“Ham acting” is something he definitely excels at when he wants to.  I haven’t yet seen Bad Lieutenant but I’m really looking forward to it (Bad Lieutenant and Vampires Kiss will be our final two movies).  I can say that Adaptation (and for that matter Leaving Las Vegas) really shows you what the man can do.  World class by any standards.  His problem is that he does so many damn movies that most of the time the scripts are pretty shitty.  He is generally spot on with matching his character with the feel of the movie, when the script goes big to make up for lack of content, so does he.

Anyways, if you haven’t seen either Adaptation or Leaving Las Vegas you should see them before your write off Cage as 100% ham.

If one more person suggests I see Cloud Atlas, I’m going to Cloud Atlas their face.

    It looks awful.

Has anyone seen No? Any good? Will it do anything other than satisfy my insatiable need for Gael Garcia Bernal’s lovely face?

I stole it off the internet, but haven’t watched it yet.  My dad watched it while we were out on New Years Eve and when I got home he look pissed and said he wanted the 3 hours of his life back.  In his words “They took an all star cast and threw it away on a nonsense story about mumbo-jumbo”.

Has anyone in the Uk and Ireland noticed that in the Irish produced mini series “Jack Taylor” the main man is being played by Matt Berninger (thinly disguised as Iain Glen, late of Game of Thrones)???

I just realized that this thread is also about television.

I’m super into Mad Men, and am currently making my way through the series yet again (I constantly re-watch it) and I’m really looking forward to the new season, which is starting back up next month.

If you love Nicolas Cage you should watch this movie. (although you’ve probably already seen it)

If you hate Nicolas Cage you should watch this movie. (it will probably change your mind about him)

If you have never heard of Nicolas Cage you should watch this movie. (your world will never be the same.)

(how the hell do you post images?  I tried pasting the actual image in, I tried pasting the URL,  I tried using the HTML, nothing seems to work.)
