    Nice, thanks!

“Matt Berninger: There’s also a pond right outside the studio that just constantly gets wildlife—bullfrogs and turtles and herons and ducks landing on it. It’s hard to be a dick when you look out the window and there’s this tranquil pond. We were just sweeter to each other than usual.”

    😁

Liking the sound of Sleep Well Beast being their longest track to date.

Curious to see how this more “anything goes” attitude pans out with the new album and touring.

I was very apprehensive about the new material because I am generally not a fan of electronic experimentation, especially coming from a band whose sound I have such an affinity towards. I don’t want a repeat of 22 a million.

This single has sold me on it. Very, very good. I love the whole “I can’t explain it any other… an other way” bit.

Carin at the Liquor Store has been stuck in my head since the live stream, same with Day I Die, and Walk It Back, and Guilty Party… Oh man this album is going to be incredible.

    Hi guys,
I reviewed the album for Record Collector magazine. I’ve attached it in case anyone wanted to read it.

    Sleep Well Beast

I also know what the songs they played in 2016 are now called on the album (though that may be relevant to a different thread.) but haven’t written them here as some people may prefer to guess and find out for themselves!
This is my first post because I’m a bit useless with knowing how forums work, but wanted to share my review with fellow National fans. Hope that’s all ok,

Miserable and subdued, that’s how I like ’em!

I’ve been almost ambivalent about this new album so far, but your review has piqued my interest. I’m certainly interested to hear more of this electronic/strings direction.

Came home to see that the vinyl was already at my doorstep. Haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet so I’m terribly excited.
