I apologize in advance if this was discussed in the old forum but it’s not searchable any longer. Anyway, what’s the deal with Tarquin Roughs? I realize the OP said not to ask for it, but I was just curious why. Thanks in advance and I’m sorry if this is a taboo topic or something!

Tarquin Roughs are a set of recordings from the sessions leading up to Boxer. They were leaked/released accidentally, and from what I understand, the band would rather not have their unfinished material circulated (reasonably so). The legend goes, I think, that a torrent popped up for a while with the Tarquin Roughs, maybe from the studio itself accidentally, and that was long enough for someone to grab it.

Anyways, this may be overshare. Mods, could you clarify the exact stance on TR? Of course sharing/uploading/etc is off-limits, but what about discussion? Acknowledging their existence? Please inform and I will be glad to edit this post if necessary. I get that the band doesn’t like having their rough work out there, but TR is a fascinating piece of their history.

On safer ground, could someone share the alternate version of Brainy mentioned on the first page? Never heard it before.

Does anyone know about the super early work that Bryan mentions in this interview (http://gothamist.com/2013/03/22/drummer_bryan_devendorf_tells_us_ab.php)? “To Be Wanted”? The 4-track recordings are the earliest I know of, but I’d love to hear more if it’s out there.

Not sure if this is what you’re looking for.

I’ve been meaning to rip this to mp3 but I haven’t gotten around to it yet 🙂

Ya, I”m curious about “To be wanted”,

I also find it kind of funny that Bryan associates the lyric with that song and not “City Middle”, which I suppose you’d expect him to be more familiar with 🙂

Anyway that’s off topic, enjoy 🙂

Thanks for clarifying that. I’m a little disappointed they don’t want it out there, but I can respect their wishes. Still, doesn’t stop me from enjoying “Anthem” on youtube every now and then!

I see these boards got rebooted!  Any tracks that were put out recently, but won’t be on ‘Trouble Will Find Me?’  I know some were posted on the old forums, but I didn’t want to download anything that would be released.  Thanks.

There’s a couple of live versions of Rylan which are knocking about, but that won’t make an appearance on Trouble Will Find Me. (It may or may not appear on a later release – we don’t know yet.)

The general jist of what has been passed onto me is that as you have said: Absolutely NO sharing/ NO asking/ NO posting – but general discussion is acceptable. Mods reserve the right to change this policy at any given time. Hope that clarifies it a little!

hi all. not sure if anybody would remember me but i’ve only just realised that re-registration was required since the forum changed. anyway, i’m back and looking forward to the new release.

in the meantime, does anybody have mp3s of the atp performances of the new songs? in particular ‘graceless’ which is a simply astonishing song. thanks in advance.

edit: actually their atp set would be good!

edit edit: don’t worry – i’ve just ripped the youtube clips so no longer required!

Anybody wanna help me out with mp3s of the tracks from ATP?

Also, any great live sets would be greatly appreciated (I already have the Youtube Uncut thing, the live at iTunes Festival EP, and the black and white sessions stuff)

I thought it was spelled out in Logical Harm’s FAQs but I don’t see it now.  In general, they seem to be fine with it, but there have been specific shows where they requested no recording be done.

    This from the FAQs:

    Q: Can I post/ask for rarities/unavailable tracks?
A: Only if they’re not available anywhere else. If you are able to legally purchase the material, whether on digital or physical format, please respect the industry and do not post the material. Likewise, there are certain demos and material the band wishes not to share, please respect their wishes.

I’m looking for the Bonnaroo 2010 live show, I used to have it and some how it’s vanished from my computer. I would kill to have it back, if anyone has it I’ll mail you a big print from a show I shot? Idk, I have photos I can trade or something. I just want this live recording back. Thanks.
