This seems like yet another critical thread. The email sent out by the TN mailing list is generating many new faces, so please introduce yourself.
I’m Jimbo from Portland OR. I’m an engineer/father/bootlegger/listener of TN. I’ve been listening to The National since April-ish 2008 and spending time on various The National based forums since August of 2008. Good to see you all here.January 16, 2013 at 1:50 am #357
I’m Adam. I was born and raised in Chicago, and I live there now, where I give books with radical ideas in them to children. I’ve been listening to the National since just before Boxer came out. I write, read, travel, and listen to other exquisite music.January 16, 2013 at 2:14 am #365
I’m Will. Been a fan of The National since Alligator. Finding the band/album via blogs was a big influence for me, and it’s one of the reasons I started a music blog of my own (we all want someone to shout for).
Seen the band many times, and am looking forward to what this seemingly new (bigger) era of the National will bring.January 16, 2013 at 6:19 am #386
I’m Timur from Orenburg (Russia). I’ve been listening The National only since 2010 and I study English by their song))
I’ve never been on concert of TN, but I gonna do it in this year.January 16, 2013 at 8:26 am #388
Hello everybody, Piervi from somewhere in Italy!
28, engineer, whatever. TN fan since 2008.January 16, 2013 at 9:29 am #391
Hullo! I’m Flint, a Finn who’s been living in the UK for the past half a decade. Got into the band through Boxer and they’ve soon become one of my all-time favourites and probably my most obsessed about currently active band. High Violet is my favourite of theirs, to the point that it’s one of my all-time favourite records. Seen them once live, right in the front row – pretty much the best live experience I’ve ever had (not that I’ve had many as I’m not a fan of going to gigs, so the fact that I went to see The National says a lot about my love for them in a way).
I also have a tendency to ramble.January 16, 2013 at 9:42 am #392
hi, I’m Ivan from Macedonia, graphic designer/illustrator.First time I heard “About today” in 2005, but I payed much more attention to the band when Boxer came out. Saw them live only once in 2010 and traveled 12 hours to do that! I designed the “2012 calendar inspired by the National” which the band liked and asked me to make a 2013 version (the peak of my very existence hehe). you can see my work at http://www.flim.mkJanuary 16, 2013 at 10:32 am #393
Hellos from Germany! I’m Claudia, live music addict, living a little too far away from music hot spot Berlin but still able to get to see a lot of good stuff around my hometown in southern Germany. I totally fell for TN when I first saw them live in Dachau, Germany in July 2010 on the HV tour but had known them since Boxer times!January 16, 2013 at 1:46 pm #399
I’m Claire. I’ve been a fan for awhile (can’t remember how long, but since before Boxer), and I remember some of you from the old forum. I’m a teacher living in NYC. I’m in the background of my avatar photo so you can kind of see what I look like. 😀January 16, 2013 at 2:24 pm #402
I’m Ryan. Lurked on the forums for a little and decided to finally sign up. Been a fan since around when boxer came out. I’m in the NJ/NYC area. Nice to meet everybody.January 16, 2013 at 2:39 pm #405
I’m Chris. Live in Surrey, England, about 30 miles from London. Another lurker, but now signed up. Old enough to know better, but TN have been an obsession since Alligator. Seen TN a few times and was lucky enough to go to ATP last month. What an awesome weekend for an obsessee. Looking forward to listening and learning from the National base.

I’m Jill – I split my time between the UK and Canada and I work for non-profits. One of my new year’s resolutions was to save more, and to spend less money on gigs. But now the band has confirmed a new album for this year, it’s only a matter of time before the resolution is broken. Which I am very very excited about.
Looking forward to getting caught up in the new-album-buzz with you all!January 16, 2013 at 4:04 pm #411
