CHERRY TREE MEMBERS: An Evening with The National [update]
March 1, 2019 at 10:02 pm #49843
We are aware that for reasons out of our control, this morning’s Cherry Tree presales in New York and Los Angeles did not run as smoothly as we would have hoped. In addition to some technical hiccups, please understand that while we push to allocate as many seats as we can to Cherry Tree members for these presales, venue rules control the percentage of tickets we can protect for our members, and unfortunately in special smaller venues there is often just not enough supply to meet the demand.
We have spent the day working with the venues to rectify the situation, and here is the solution we can present to you:
At 5pm PT / 8pm ET tonight, March 1, there will be a second Cherry Tree presale for our New York performance at the Beacon Theatre and Los Angeles performance at the Orpheum Theatre.
Ticket codes and links are currently in the process of being emailed to eligible members active as-of February 27. Please contact us if your presale info doesn’t arrive by 3pm PT / 6pm ET.
As with the first presale, we cannot guarantee that there will be enough tickets for every member who wants one, as this is purely based on supply. But we wanted everyone to have a second chance prior to the public on-sale tomorrow. For this presale, a strict ticket limit of 2 will be enforced per show. If you have duplicate orders they will be canceled. This presale is only open those members who did not get tickets in the earlier sale – if your code has already been used to successfully purchase tickets to the New York or Los Angeles show, tickets bought in this second presale with that code will be cancelled.
Please do not share your presale codes.

There was NO mention that I saw of a 2 ticket limit to the Toronto show, so I bought 2 and then went back in and bought 2 more — and I bought flights to Toronto to boot. I will lose my mind if my order is cancelled — I have emailed the American Mary store and the ticket service who sent my receipts — who should I be talking to???March 1, 2019 at 10:50 pm #49851
You bought 4 tickets, you have four people flying in – is that correct? It would be beneficial to call the ticketing service tomorrow morning to clarify, but in worst case scenario, you will be able to repurchase seats in the general sale. Apologies that this wasn’t clear – I will pass this information on and I really hope we can get this sorted.March 1, 2019 at 10:50 pm #49852

I can’t state how disappointed I have been with this presale today. I joined cherry tree several months ago because I am tired of never getting good seats or not getting seats at all for shows. Ticket agencies always have the best seats. I was on the site this morning at exactly 8:00am and couldn’t get a ticket. I tried at 5, right on time again and every time I made a selection it said someone else already got those tickets. All that was left in the orchestra section where groups of 3 seats. Presale had a 2 seat limit and ticketmaster wouldn’t allow me to buy 2 seats that would leave 1 seat all alone. After trying and trying to get a 2 seats in the orchestra section the site finally found 2 seats for me in the crappy balcony section. So, I paid to join cherry tree specifically to get good seats and again I couldn’t get them. Extremely disappointed. Can’t beat the ticket agencies. Even joining artist fan clubs doesn’t help. I won’t be renewing my membership.March 2, 2019 at 1:26 am #49854
I echo klozher. Not only was this mornings pre-sale a failure, but not a single link worked for me with the second pre-sale for An Evening With The National. This is the worst pre-sale I’ve participated in by far. How hard is it to supply links that work?March 2, 2019 at 1:42 pm #49855
It would appear the second presale was not done through the original website but through ticketmaster (at least for NYC) – if you have your updated code those seats are still avaliable. Good luck.March 2, 2019 at 3:51 pm #49857
I also tried to get tickets this morning to the Toronto show and was very disappointed to not be able to secure seats for myself and my wife (the show was sold out in under 13 minutes). I really enjoy seeing the National in small intimate venues and understand the issue that this results in the shows selling out incredibly quickly. If possible it would be ideal if you could limit the number of seats to 2 per order (it was 4 in Toronto) and have the show over multiple nights (as you did several years ago at Massey Hall).
Sadly my only option is to try and get tickets from scalpers, it will be interesting to see how quickly the tickets show up on the resell market.
I just checked and sadly as of 11:40 am the scalpers have listed a lot of tickets on stubhub…..

Thank you for that fix. I tried at 11:00:00 am Friday for NYC tickets with no luck. The second presale worked.
I’ve been scoping out for possibly better seats at resellers (the general public sale was a bust), it is interesting to see that virtually no tickets are available on the lower balcony. I’m guessing that’s where the venue allocated most of the presale, and we Cherry Tree members are not giving up our tickets.
I hope I am right, then I will be among other hardcore fans. Taking the train from DC.
Sorry to hear others were not successful.
